Are you confident your HR is compliant?
Join the HR Essentials for Small Business Webinar Series and protect your business, your team, and your peace of mind.
The 5 Webinars:
WEBINAR 1 - The IR Framework — NES, Awards, Contracts & Policies

This is the backbone of every employment relationship. Recent Fair Work Act amendments have tightened employer responsibilities around pay, record-keeping, and contract clarity.

If your employment contracts or policies haven’t been reviewed since mid-2023, it’s time.

Many updates — especially around flexible work, fixed-term limits, and casual conversion — are already in effect.

WEBINAR 2 - The Right to Disconnect

From 26 August 2024, employees gained the legal right to refuse unreasonable contact outside of work hours. For small business employers, this right takes effect from August 2025 — which means you have only a few short months to understand what’s “reasonable,” update policies, and communicate expectations to your team.

WEBINAR 3 - Employee vs Independent Contractor

The new test for distinguishing contractors from employees is now embedded in the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes No. 2) Act 2024.

Misclassification can attract significant penalties, including back-pay, superannuation, and leave liabilities. Understanding the criteria — and how they apply in practice — is no longer optional.

WEBINAR 4 - Psychosocial Safety — WHS Obligations

The psychosocial safety regulations introduced in 2023 are now fully enforceable.

That means every employer must identify and manage risks to mental health at work — such as workload, bullying, and poor change management — in the same way they would any physical hazard.

The cost of ignoring this? Workers-comp claims, regulator investigations, and reputational damage.

WEBINAR 5 - Positive Duty to Prevent Sexual Harassment

The Respect@Work reforms place a positive duty on employers to actively prevent sexual harassment, not just respond after the fact.

The Australian Human Rights Commission is now monitoring compliance, and from December 2024 can investigate and enforce action where employers fail to take reasonable steps.
